In March of 2012, Mark Samolinski was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. Since then he has had multiple surgeries, including leukoplakia removal, a hemilaryngectomy and most recently a full laryngectomy and removal of stage 4 cancerous lymph nodes. During his last surgery Mark also underwent a tracheostomy, leaving him with a stoma (throat hole) that allows air to his lungs. This surgery prevents Mark from ever speaking with his own voice again. The combination of medical treatments, surgeries and expensive self-pay insurance premiums during a time of uncertain future income and imminent insurance coverage changes has left Mark and his family extremely concerned about their future. Expenses and debt continue to amass while Mark is struggling to fight his disease.
Mark and his family are life long members of the Antigo community and we are asking the community to pull together to help him in his time of need.
All donations will go toward medical treatment, hospital and surgery bills and other expenses associated with the tremendous costs that continue to mount in his ongoing battle with cancer.
